Swim diapers are a real help when you go swimming with your little one. Of course, babies and toddlers sometimes have an accident in the water. With a washable swimming diaper, this is fortunately quickly remedied!
How do washable swim diapers work?
Swimming diapers work quite easily. If your baby has pooped while swimming or paddling, the washable nappy prevents the feces from ending up in the water. You take your little one to the changing room or toilet, empty the nappy into the toilet and then rinse it thoroughly under the tap. Put the diaper back on and your baby is ready to go back into the water!
Swimming diapers, on the other hand, don't stop urine very well. Washable swim diapers like the ones we sell have a plastic layer, so the first bit of urine will be stopped. (This is in contrast to disposable diapers, which stop almost nothing.) Especially this is the case, if the swim diaper fits well on the legs. But with all that splashing and playing in the water also washable diapers unfortunately offer no 100% guarantee that the urine does not end up in the water. So you can especially stop the big message with swim diapers.
Washable swim diapers vs. disposable swim diapers
Washable swim diapers have a number of advantages over the disposable version. For example, they are very handy for taking along on holiday: you don't have to pack mountains of disposable diapers. And of course it would be a shame if you arrived at your holiday destination, only to find out that they don't sell swimming diapers there!
In addition, washable diapers are also a responsible choice. Instead of throwing away one diaper at a time, you use the same nappy over and over again. This saves a lot of raw materials and is also great for your wallet. Because the swim diaper is washable, you just get it clean in the washing machine. A washable swim diaper is therefore both more environmentally friendly and cheaper!
There is also a difference between washable swim diapers and disposable swim diapers when it comes to stopping urine, although the difference is small. With a washable swim diaper, there is a plastic layer on the inside. This layer stops a bit of pee, but not much and is also not guaranteed as your little one moves a lot of course. However, disposable swim diapers do not stop urine at all. You could also use a washable swim diaper if you try to get your toddler potty-trained.
